Korie Hauoli Kaopuiki's Obituary
Korie Hauoli Kaopuiki
May 15, 1976 – December 20, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep aloha, we honor the life of Korie Hauoli Kaopuiki, who returned to our Heavenly Father on December 20, 2025, at his home in Kailua. Though we feel the ache of his absence, we are equally filled with gratitude for the way he lived—fully, freely, and with a love that touched everyone he encountered. To know Korie was to know true aloha. He was, and always will be, our “Mr. Aloha.”
Born in Honolulu on May 15, 1976, to Albert Kaopuiki and the late RoseMary Kaopuiki, Korie was raised in Pearl City alongside his sister, Kathie Haaheo Kaopuiki-Nestrick, and his brother, Kirk Kaopuiki. From an early age, his life was anchored in faith and family—two pillars he carried with unwavering devotion throughout his life.
Korie loved deeply and without hesitation. His nieces, Shaynee Ucker-Pagampao and Harley Kaopuiki, his nephew, Kamakauhiakeliikauikaonohinohi Makua, and his grand niece Shayllen Ku'u Momi Makamae Ucker-Pagampao held a special place in his heart. He showed up for them not just as an uncle, but as a steady presence of joy, laughter, and unconditional love.
He had a way of lighting up any room he entered—quick to laugh, easy to talk to, and never one to judge. Korie met people where they were, offering acceptance and warmth that made others feel seen and safe. His relationship with God was not just something he spoke about—it was something he lived, daily and authentically.
Animals were drawn to Korie, just as people were. Rarely without a dog by his side, he found comfort in their companionship, just as they found safety in his care. That bond reflected who he was at his core—loyal, gentle, and deeply nurturing.
Korie dedicated his professional life to serving others as a Mental Health Specialist at Kahi Mohala and later as a Mental Health Technician at Castle Hospital. He stood beside those navigating some of life’s hardest moments, offering not only care, but dignity, patience, and humanity. In environments that could feel heavy, Korie brought light—lifting spirits, easing tension, and reminding others they were not alone. For him, this was never just work; it was his calling.
He lived with an open heart and open hands. Korie never turned away from someone in need. Whether it was sharing a meal, giving his last dollar, or simply sitting with someone in silence, he gave freely and without expectation. If you needed someone to stand with you, to listen without judgment, or to remind you of your worth—Korie was there.
The memories he leaves behind are not just moments, but lessons—lessons in generosity, compassion, faith, and what it truly means to live with aloha. His spirit lives on in every act of kindness inspired by him, in every life he touched, and in every heart that carries his love forward.
Aloha ‘oe, Korie. Your love remains with us—steady, guiding, and eternal—until we meet again.
