Lavinia Na'ati Koli-Masaniai's Obituary
We celebrate the life of Lavinia Na’ati Koli-Masaniai, age 72, of Aiea. Born on June 7, 1948 in Kolovai, Tongatapu. Lavinia passed away at home, surrounded by her family on October 2, 2020.
In 1973, she moved to American Samoa with her husband, Paeamoelotu Koli, eventually settling in Hawaii in December of 1978. Over the 50 years of their marriage, they created a home and raised a beautiful family.
A loving, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grand mother Lavinia is survived by her loving husband Paeamoelotu Koli; daughters, Fiolenitina (Domingo) Garcia, Sandy Masaniai, Sela Masaniai (Leon); sons, Viliamu (Kanoelehua) Masaniai, Nai’toko (Ta) Koli; 7 siblings; 21 grandchildren and, 7 great-grandchildren.
Lavinia was the link that kept family and friends connected across the Pacific. She will be remembered fondly for her caring heart, giving spirit, humbleness, integrity, and her infectious sense of humor. She helped to bring many people together, holding numerous relationships with both friends and especially family through the years and was so loved and well respected by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Drive Thru Visitation will be held on November 11, 2020, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park Trouseal Chapel: 47-200 Kahekili Hwy, Kaneohe, HI 96744.
