Mr. Leon C Dela Cruz's Obituary
Celebrating the amazing life of Leon Cachola dela Cruz
April 11, 1941 – April 19, 2025
On April 11, 1941 Leon Cachola dela Cruz was born in Narvacan Ilocos Sur (Palicud) Philippines, brining joy and happiness to his parents Pedro and Emilia dela Cruz.
Leon enjoyed life and brought smiles to the many that he was around. He served in many ways especially when it came to cooking. He was an amazing cook, and many were aware of that as he was asked to cook for parties, regular potlucks, barbeques and home meals. Especially the chicken leg soup, pork adobo, and his wife, Thelma’s favorite dinardaraan (Pork blood meat).
In his career, Leon as an amazing artist, was a civil service worker as a sign painter for the Navy Shipyard Pearl Harbor. He worked there for over 20 years and also painted homes for family and friends and paying customers. He would often volunteer as his skill allowed him to make banners for parties and the like. Leon would hand paint signs, posters and banners for many folks that he knew.
Leon is survived by his beloved spouse, Thelma dela Cruz, and all his nine children, Lorna Ontai (Calvin), Marlene Salazar (Champ), Leoni Namsinh (Tan), Leonard dela Cruz (Ada), Lester dela Cruz (Glenda), Romeo Mendoza (Martha), Rosemary Hawkins (Forrest), Jonathan Mendoza (Danielle), Rodney Mendoza (Deceased),(Pinky). 17 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. Sister Marie Ingle, brother Romeo dela Cruz (Deceased). Leon was preceded in his passing by his parents, Pedro and Emilia dela Cruz, whose memories he carried close to his heart.
Leon’s life came to a peaceful close shortly after his 84th birthday. On April 19, 2025, we lost our beloved one. A loving, caring, serving and giving person. Leon was an amazing husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandfather, great grandfather & friend. We Love & Miss You, POPS!!
