Leonida "Auntie Leoning" A. Lowery's Obituary
Leonida “Auntie Leoning” A. Lowery, a resident of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Care Center of Honolulu she was 84 years old. Leonida was the oldest of four children born to Cristina M. (Castillo) and Paulino B. Aguda in Malasin, Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on February 25, 1932.
Leonida was a retired food preparer at the Diner’s Drive-Inn in Honolulu.
Auntie Leoning as she was affectionately known by was an active senior who was involved with the Kokua Kalihi Valley Elder Care and enjoyed socializing amongst her friends, dancing, singing, celebrating birthdays and exercising. She would attend the Senior Center three times a week which kept her very busy in her social life.
Auntie Leoning was an absolute fan of the show, “Dancing with the Stars” on ABC. She also enjoyed listening to KNDI, Filipino Radio Station, this is where she would keep up with the current events and listening to Filipino music.
Services for Auntie Leoning will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Diamond Head Mortuary (located at 535 18th Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813); visitation from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m.; wake service to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Prayer service on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace (located at 1184 Bishop Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813); Prayer service will be from: 8:30 – 9:00 a.m. Burial 11:00 a.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
