In loving memory of Lillian Antoinette Goodacre (Kulesza), 87 years old, she entered eternal rest on Monday, March 12, 2012. She passed in the early morning hours at AnnPearl Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Home in Kaneohe, Hawaii.
Lillian’s close family and friends knew her by her nickname “Lily,†when she was growing up in Chicago, IL. She studied opera taking private voice lessons from Mrs. Horn, who arranged recitals, summer music camps, and performances. She learned to speak fluent Latin in high school. She became accomplished in opera and was given a scholarship to a private four year university studying Performing Arts. Opera and classical music were her passions. In her final year at university she met Myron Duane Goodacre, who became her husband in Appleton, WI, and is where they lived during the early years of their marriage.
After her marriage she became a homemaker, led the church choir, and worked part-time for the schools. They had two children in Wisconsin, Byron and Faline. Then they went out west to Fresno, CA and had two more children Perry and Christy. Later they moved to La Selva Beach, CA.
Lil’s grandson Anthony and his father Byron live in Reno, NV. Lil’s younger son Perry passed away in an auto accident in 1984. Perry was survived by a daughter Kyra. Kyra Lawrence has three children, Haley, Chloe, and Pierson who are Lillian’s only great-grandchildren.
Lil and Myron loved to travel in their motor home for many years. They would travel around the USA, Canada, and take day trips into Mexico from their RV space in Arizona. They also visited their youngest daughter, Christy in Hawaii. They were happily married for 56 years. Lillian was widowed in 2004. In 2006 Lillian went for another visit to Kapolei, Hawaii and moved in with her daughter, Christine and her son-in-law, Steven Romano.
Lil loved to go to the movies all her life. She loved dark chocolate, See’s Candies best of all. Golden Girls and Nanny were a couple of her favorite television shows she could watch reruns on a daily basis.
In 2008 she received news that her daughter, Faline had cancer and went back to California to see her for the last time. Faline’s son Earl passed away the following year.
Lil has a brother- and sister-in-law in Fairfield, CA, Don and Donna Christopherson, and their three children; her nieces Kim and Cindy, and nephew Steve. Kim lives in Juneau, AK with her husband Eddie and daughter Sierra. Steve and Cindy live in the Bay area. Lil’s niece Aleta lives in Tuscan, AZ.
Mom will always be in my heart and with me whereever I go in this life.
