Lois Misao Inamine
Was born on June 2, 1930 in Punene, Maui to Jira & Kame Inamine
She is Survived by: Toshiko Sakihara, Millie Saito, Mori Inamine, Moriyuki Inamine and Tomi Kitano. She had 13 nieces and nephews, 31 grand nephews & nieces and 32 great grand nephews & nieces. She was the 6th of 9 children
She attended Punene Elementary and Baldwin High for her freshman year on Maui. She then transferred to and graduated from Hawaii Mission Academy in 1948. She received her Bachelors degree from the University of Hawaii in 1952. She furthered her education at UCLA by working her way through graduate school and received her graduate degree in 1954. She then returned to Oahu and was first employed as a Teacher at Leilehua High in 1955 then at Kaimuki High in 1956. She moved to Jarrett Middle school and was one of the first educators there when it first opened in 1957 until her retirement in 1990, with 35 years of service in the Department of Education.
In her retired life she traveled to many places like; Russia, China, Japan, Korea, Greenland, Mexico, California, Ireland, Norway and also loved traveling to the state parks in the U.S. with her good friends Betty, Evelyn, Jan & Doris. One of her favorite parks was Yellow Stone National Park, which she visited at least 3 times. She continued to take care of the family and raised Mark, her grand-nephew and Kelly, her grand-niece.
Aunty passed away at Queens Hospital on January 27th at the age of 83.
