Lorenzo Raquel's Obituary
It is with great sadness to share the passing of Lorenzo Raquel. Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary is honored to be serving the Raquel family.
Lorenzo Ulep Raquel from Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members on July 25, 2021. Born January 12, 1923 in Ragas, Dingras, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he worked as a farmer. At age 53, he followed his son Pepito (late Pacita; survived by Romualda) to Hawaii, where he started a new life with the rest of his family. He was employed at the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum for 35 years as a groundskeeper.
Lorenzo was preceded in death by his son Pepito (d. 2010). He is survived by his sons Artemio (Adoracion), Ernesto (Elisa), Ruben (Sylvie), Victor Sr. (Marylou), Rick (Cheryl), and Dionisio (Marybeth). He was cherished by his 18 grandchildren Joseph (Mia), Gerald (Arlene), Jonathan (Kristine), Lawrence, Stephen, Michael, Erlyne (Winston), Ernesto Jr. (Clarissa), Emeris (Todd), Elise, Primrose (Clifford), Victor Jr. (Kasandra), Christian Guzman, Rich, Crystal, Angelica (Joshua), Dionisio Jr, and Noah. He will be remembered by his 17 great-grandchildren (Mya, Kya, Ashton, Cason, Sage, Ethan, Brayden, Sherwin Jr., Princess, Elysa, Ezekiel, Eli, Jeremiah, Ariellah, Everly, Aria, and Sophia).
A funeral service will be held at the Valley of the Temples Chapel on August 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Ruben Raquel officiating. The service will be livestreamed (http://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/57889/hash:F48867B5B1AB5A5B). Private family viewing is from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. Public viewing is from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The burial service will follow in the family plot at the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
