We started at Kapiʻolani together in 2021. As some of the tallest of providers, we were able to find each other in a crowd, and made sure to send well wishes to each other even from afar. He impacted so many providers, staff, and families in this way because his talent and compassion reached far beyond his surgical skills alone. He is just the best of humans. Though we had some amazing times caring for babies in the NICU together, his love, kindness, empathy, and compassion will by far leave a lasting impression on us all. Queen Kapiʻolani herself would be proud of the time he spent in Hawaiʻi, he challenged us to kūlia i ka nuʻu (strive to reach the highest). I know in his memory we will continue to do so. Rest in paradise my friend, Iʻm sure you will greet us all on the other side. Aloha no, Misty Lilinoe (Neonatal Nurse Practitioner)
