Luisito "Louie" Gutierrez Bonilla, 69 of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018. He was born on March 26, 1949 to father, Eliseo Garcia Bonilla and mother, Paciencia (Gutierrez) Bonilla in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines; he was the elder of two children..
Luisito attended the following schools: Filipinas Elementary, Santo Rosa Academy and Divine Word College. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce.
He worked as a machine operator for LIbby's Cannery and also was a fork lift operator for Weyerhaeuser Paper Company.
He was first married to Rosalinda Basilio on June 25, 1975 in Honolulu, Hawaii; their marriage ended in a divorce. He then married and divorced Pepsi Tom-Hoon.
Luisito enjoyed playing the piano, bowling and spending time with his family and friends. He was involved in "JBL's" Band and the Weyerhaeuser bowling league.
His favorite songs were "I'll Remember You" by Don Ho and "in Dis Life" by Israel Kamakawiwoole.
He is survived by his loving children, Bernadette "Dee Dee" Bonilla (Anthony) Cesneros, Luisito "Jay Jay" Gutierrez Bonilla Jr., Christopher Basilio Bonilla, Beaux Maoli (Stephanie) Bonilla, Zach Kaanohilani Bonilla and Jazz Patience Hokunalani Bonilla; five grandchildren; and sister, Elvira "Lulu" Gutierrez Palileo..
Celebration of life and wake service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary (Kaneohe); visitation from 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with service to begin at 6:30 p.m. Additional funeral service will be held the following day, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Kalihi (640 Puuhale Road); visitation to begin at 9:00 a.m., Mass at 10:00 a.m. and burial to follow 1:00 p.m. at the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park (Kaneohe).
