Luz Velasco's Obituary
Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary at Valley of the Temples, is saddened to announce the passing of the late Luz Leticia Diniega Velasco. She was born on Bacarra, Ilocos Norte Philippines on July 13, 1940 and passed away on July 7, 2023 in Washington. She retired as a Housekeeper for Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel.
She was known for her green thumb. She enjoyed planting & growing her Filipino vegetables. Her favorite past time was going to the swap meet to sell her plants and vegetables & cooking tupig with her late husband Evaristo. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Luz is survived by her Children: Arsenia “Berni” (Owen) Tanaid, Regino (Manlee) Velasco, Cresencia “Cris” (Carl) Cariaga, Evelyn (Richard) Rife; Sister: Rosita Macadangdang; Grandchildren: 9; Great Grandchildren: 8. Preceded in death by Husband: Evaristo Velasco .
Funeral service will be on Thursday August 31, 2023, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Visitation will be at 10am with Mass at 11am. There will be a burial to follow at 1pm at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
