Lynn Kazuno Abe 's Obituary
LYNN KAZUNO ABE Lynn K. Abe, 96, passed away July 19, 2014 at Castle Medical Center. She was born in the spring of 1918 in Honolulu and grew up in Kawailoa and Ewa Plantation. She married George Abe and moved to Kailua in 1948. She was co-owner of Jean’s Bakery and Fountain and its chief cake decorator. Lynn loved her family and gardening, especially growing orchids and anthuriums. Lynn is survived by husband, George; daughters Jean Sumimoto, Gloria Chapman, and Carol Abe; grandchildren Mark, Rick, and Ann Sumimoto and Kelsey Anderson; brothers Arimichi and Thomas Sato; and sister Kathryn Narusawa. She was predeceased by son, Clinton. The family wishes to thank the Weinberg Center at Pohai Nani, Castle Medical Center and, especially, Norma and Jerry Tenorio and their staff at Oililua ElderCare for caring for Lynn over the past several years. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2 at Kailua Community Church at 1:30 p.m. Buddhist services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 3 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Visitation at 11:00 a.m., service at 11:30 a.m. with burial to follow.
