Lynne Laverne Gomes' Obituary
Lynne L. Uratani Abt Gomes, 90, of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at her residence in Honolulu. She was the third of five children born to Kaichi Uratani and Kazu “Betsy” Yumiba on March 17, 1925 in Hilo Hawaii.
She attended Hilo High School then moved to O‘ahu and lived in Kaneohe. She was married to Theodore Nobriga Gomes.
She enjoyed the annual Daijingu Autumn Festival. Being around her family and loved ones were very important. Lynne’s favorite songs were “Sweet Someone” and “I’ll Remember You”.
She is survived by son, Harlan H. Gomes; daughters, Sharon J. Abt Uratani, Blanche E.T. Elaban (Joseph Jr.), Teddie S. Chartrand (Larry K.); brother, Edward Uratani; sisters, Matsue “Honey” Fujimoto and Elaine Logan; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation: 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary Chapel; Service to begin at 10:30 a.m.; Burial to follow: 1:00 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
