Mabel Chong Kee Leong's Obituary
Mabel Chong Kee Leong, 98, of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at her residence in Honolulu. She was born on December 3, 1916 in Maui, Hawaii to Choy Yong Kee and Jacintha Silva Amorin. She was a retired clerk with Maui Electric Company.
She was married to George Tim Leong on August 1, 1936 until his passing in January of 1980.
He is survived by daughters, Robin Mann of O‘ahu, Penny Kasten (Peter) of Carlsbad, CA, and Suzanne Parra (Kent) of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren, Lorie Granger (Brad) of O‘ahu, Stacie Parra of Hawthorne, CA, Gregg Kasten of Foster City, CA, Krista Withee (Brett) of San Diego, CA, Kimberly Byrnes (Brian) of San Diego, CA and Scott Parra, of San Diego, CA; eight great-grandchildren, Brock Granger, Scott Granger, Blaine Granger, Brandon Byrnes, Kiana Withee, Kaylin Byrnes, Melea Withee, and Kellan Withee; sister, Bernice Mau; three brothers, Lawrence Chong Kee of O‘ahu, Kenneth of Chong Kee of Maui, and Ronald Chong Kee of Maui. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Tim Leong, and parents Choy Yong Kee and Jacintha “Jesse” Silva Amorin of Paia Maui.
Visitation: 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church; Mass to begin at 5:00 p.m.; Additional service: Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Christ the King Church in Kahului, Maui; visitation: 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Mass to begin at 11:00 a.m., with a burial to follow: 12:30 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park.
