Madeline Cariaga Lacamiento's Obituary
Madeline Lacamiento, 56, passed away on October 30, 2017, at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center in Honolulu, HI.
Madeline was born on October 10, 1961 in Laoag City (Ilocos Norte), Philippines. She came to Oahu in 1968 with her mother and two older brothers aboard the USS Cleveland.
Madeline loved cooking for her family, from traditional Filipino dishes to various recipes she found off the internet. You could often find her at Chinatown Express on Dillingham Boulevard buying fresh ingredients for her dishes. When she wasn’t cooking or just out and about, she enjoyed watching Korean dramas, playing candy crush on her iPad, and keeping in touch with friends and family on Facebook.
She was a strong woman who faced and overcame many challenges throughout her life. She would shed a few tears, confront them head-on, and smiled when she came out the victor.
Madeline is survived by her children, Jennifer (Joel) Alibin and Jared Lacamiento; her brothers, Elmer (Brigida) Cariaga and Edwin Cariaga; and her uncles, Crispin Cariaga and Diomedes Juan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zaldy; parents, Benigno and Luisa Cariaga; and father-in-law, Ambrocio Lacamiento.
