Marcelino Quiday Calbero's Obituary
Marcelino Quiday Calbero, 88, of Waipahu, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on April 6, 1938 in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. His family migrated to Lanai to work the pineapple plantations when he was 16 years old, graduated from Lanai High School, later attending school on Oahu, which led to a career as a crane and heavy equipment operator. He showed his love through the things he created with his own hand- a grassy, green yard, a garden full of vegetables and a hothouse of orchids, frames for art, a sturdy dresser, a doghouse concrete projects, like stepping stones and multiple Koi fishponds. the expansion of the family home, where he hosted many relatives as they transitioned into adulthood.
He is survived by his children, Rowena (Bob) Ednilao, Deborah (Darcy) Espejo, Winona Calbero, Joanne Klopp; grandchildren, Robbie Ednilao, Wyatt Ednilao, Nohea Espejo, Ian (Maddie) Espejo, Gabriel Klopp, Daniel Klopp, Celine Klopp, great granddaughter, Emi Espejo. Siblings, Evelio (Carol) Calbero and Herman (Evelyn) Calbero and life partner, Sylvia Uyemura. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Evangeline Lehua (Gumapac) Calbero; his Siblings, Arsenio (Saturnina) Calbero, Sr., (Doulas, Sr.) Aveiro, Sophia Calbero.
