Maria Camille Stoebner's Obituary
On July 21, 1939, in the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong BC, the world was blessed with Maria “Camille” Rozario, born minutes after her older twin sister Socorrin, and a surprise to her parents as she was born unconscious and blue. Camille wasn’t expected to live until a Catholic nun heroically brought her back to life. This nun, also named Camille, like a guardian angel, assisted in guiding a very special person into our lives. Mahalo nui loa!
In Hong Kong, as a teenager Camille was a young, beautiful and lively woman. She spent her younger years at Maryknoll as her prestigious Portuguese family prospered. In 1959 her family moved to Southern California where she went to secretarial school and worked to help support her family. Back then she loved to hit the town in matching outfits with her other half, Socorrin and dance the night away. During this time Camille grew into an elegant, movie-star beautiful woman, who effectively caught the eye of her soon-to-be husband Morrie Stoebner. In 1962, a day before Thanksgiving she met Morrie, a young and handsome sales manager while water skiing in Long Beach. It was like a romantic scene out of a Hollywood movie. Within 6 weeks this lucky and ambitious man won her hand in marriage. It was a timeless, adventurous, and committed 52 years filled with endless love and extensive world travel.
In 1974 Camille and her family was gifted with the opportunity to move to Oahu, Hawaii. This is were she spent the rest of her days, making magnificent island flower arrangements, as well as working hard at being a strong mother figure for her two beloved children. Camille was blessed with ten healthy and beautiful grandchildren, who loved and appreciated her unconditionally.
It was a happy 52 years enjoying life with her loving husband and family, and a perfect 76 years of a fulfilling existence, treating everyday like a very special day… Now that’s a life worth living!
