We are so very saddened to hear of Tays death. How fortunate that Michael and Mum were able to see him earlier this year at the beginning of their great trip. Michael has spoken to me often since returning from the trip of Tays enormous warmth and humanity and the boundless love and devotion he showed Helen. Mum has often spoken of the love affair between Helen and Tay, and how they saw eachother a handful of times and married on the 12th or 13th time and had the most harmonious marriage. What a blessing, in a world where so very many families fall apart. My memories of Tay are of a handsome, beautiful soulful moral man who was my extremely cool american uncle. I always enjoyed talking with him, he was so chilled! I last saw Tay a few years ago at The Bakehouse with Helen with my very small children Xan & Saskia. I have told Xan and Saskia of their lovely American uncle and aunt and their dare devil cousins! Xan absolutely loves anything to do with the army and miitary history so the Tilghman family often crops up in conversation. Our thoughts are with you all, Joanna, Jeffery, Richard and P.B. With love Lizzie Xan and Saskia
