Marleen "Marti" Kawehiokalani Ho'okano's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Marleen “Marti” Kawehiokalani Ho’okano. Born on February 24, 1959 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her parents were Ernest Kealamokihana Ho’okano Sr. & Loretta “Loret” Ho’okano. She was the 3rd of 6 children. She attended the following schools, Hawaiian Mission Academy and Pacific Union College. She earned her Associate of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. After graduating she began her career as a Medical Transcriptionist. Marleen was a member of the Kaneohe Seventh Day Adventist Church in Kaneohe. Marleen loved her cats dearly. Her favorite hobbies, activities and past time include love of arts, crafts and gadgets. One of her favorite songs was Hapa- Ka Uluewhi O Ke Kai.
Survived by, mother, Loretta “Loret” Ho’okano; sister, Debbie (Stan) Jasco; brothers, Ernest K. (Monica) Jr., Kevin (Patti), Warren (Vicky) and Whitney Ho’okano; nieces, Kanoe, Layla, Rachael and Mei; nephews, Michael, Matthew, Dean and Mateo. Among her special friends were Tammy (Kaho’onei) Lucretia & Theone Lau.
Celebration of life: 10:00a.m., Friday August 16, 2013 at St. John’s by the Sea Episcopal Church; reception and lunch following service at Ho’okano Hall.
