Maka was my massage therapist for several years. She was one of the best I have ever had. We shared stories of our families and really became friends. Because of my back surgery I had not been to see Maka in the past two years so was shocked to read her obituary in the paper today. She was truly a wonderful, loving woman and an exceptional therapist. My thoughts are with the family at this time. Had the pleasure of meeting Maka only once, to bring her the Banaba leaves special from Hilo to make a special tea for healing. What a spark she had in her, especially her eyes. I never believed she had that on her shoulders. I prayed with her that day in Zippy's Kaneohe & also told my friend Patti Denko in New York that I had met with her. Rest in peace, Maka & you shall sing with all the angels in heaven. Aloha Oi..

I shall miss Maka deeply as a young friend & therapist whose soothing hands & warm heart brought comfort to this Aunty every summer when I went "home" to visit from NYC.
I will remember our conversations about our respective Ohana & my hula days with local celebs as an Ex-Lex..performer.

Thank you for always inspiring me as a mother! Miss those long conversations during the middle of the day while our other parties are waiting for us to stop laughing & get off the phone with eachother! Miss those days we accidentally would bump into eachother while shopping & will be talking in an aisle for an hour then realizing we have to rush to finish shopping because we would just hang & talk talk talk. While growing up with Maka she was always happy and supportive of me. I always remembered her reminding to do what my Father and Mother told me when I didn't do my chores. I admired her for raising her boys. I will always remember her laughter and smile.
