Mary Florague Apolonio's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Mary Florague Apolonio born on December 25, 1935 in Nueva Cija, Luzon of the Philippines. Her parents were Justino and Flora Florague. At the age of 21 she became a seamstress. She was married to Oligario Castro Apolonio on December 30, 1964 in the Philippines. She arrived in Hawaii on April 2, 1966 and worked as a custodian with the Hawaiian Telephone Company. She retired with that company in the late 1980's. She was a member of The Filipino Catholic Club, Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary and The St. Antoniana Club within St. Anthony Catholic Church in Kalihi. Mary was known as a Strong, Intelligent, Caring, Strong-willed and beautiful woman. Her favorite hobbies were growing beautiful, hanging orchids, tending to her floral garden, making Japanese floral arrangements, dress-making, sewing and crocheting. Her favorite songs were "Spanish Eyes" and "Funkytown". She also loved Christmas songs by Alvin and the Chipmunks.
