Maxine Mee San Kim's Obituary
On March 31, 2018, Maxine Mee San Kim of Kaneohe, peacefully passed away at Ann Pearl Nursing Facility in Kaneohe at the age of 97, after residing ther for the last 9 months of her full life. She was born in Honolulu on October 13, 1920 to Yong Ho Yess and Bok Cho Koo and was a 1937 graduae of McKinley H.S. She resided in Honolulu, Halawa Heights, and Maui retiring as a waitress from the Maui Beach Hotel, Prior to moving back to Oahu to reside in Kaneohe.
She loved her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with them and eating their homemade dishes at potlucks in the back patio at Kaneohe. A perfectionist and a very hard worker, she was a meticulous dresser, a very particular housekeeper, a marvelous cook, and an exceptional seamstress.
Predeceased by daughter Lorna AhYat; exx-husband Joseph Kim Sr.; companion Haruo "Aloha" Sato; a brother and 2 sisters.
Survived by her son Joseph(Beverly) Kim Jr.; Grandchildren, Darneen (Dexter) Sardinha, Deeneen Akeo, Lester (CHerie) Akeo Jr., Carrlyn AhYat, Joely Bryan) Chung, Sunny (Grayson) Jeremiah, Kathleen (Walter) Marciel, Francis (Lisa) AhYat Jr., 21 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-granchildren; Sister-in-law and numerous Nieces and Nephews
Visitation at Hawaiina Memorial Park Mortuary, April 25, 2018 at 9 am; Service at 10 am; Followed by burial at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery. Casual/Aloha attire.
