We remember Mia Joan Pasion Raquel first as the heart of our home. Her days always began and ended with love for the people around her.
Mia shared Twenty-six devoted years with her husband, Eulalio “Jimmy” Raquel, and poured her energy into raising their sons, Antonio Jose Raquel and Euoan Jei Anthony Raquel. Every choice she made showed how much she treasured her family.
Supportive, kind, and loyal are the words we reach for when we talk about her. She stood beside us in the good moments and the hard ones without ever asking for praise.
Shopping trips, meals out, and an ice-cold Pepsi were her simple joys. She also brightened weekends with outdoor activities, turning ordinary outings into lively family memories.
Even while caring for us, she set out on a new path and started work in the medical field as a certified nursing assistant. Helping patients came naturally to her gentle spirit.
Mia was born in Batac, Philippines, and later made her home in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, where she passed away. No matter the place, she carried her roots and her warmth with her.
We will keep following her example of steady love and everyday kindness. Thank you, Mia, for being our guide, our comfort, and our friend. We carry you in our hearts, always.
