Gloria Bounds
Mitsuko Kaneshiro, affectionately referred to as " Big Aunty", leaves behind a profound legacy. I will miss her candid conversation, inquisitive expression, and her smile that always brought joy to my heart. She exemplified a warrior spirit and high esteem. During the Battle of Okinawa, she wasn't content idly waiting for fate to carry her through. Instead, as a young teen, she foraged for food for her family. I cannot imagine having the fortitude to do what she has done, or fathom what might have happened to the lineage of our family if we had not been Blessed to have Big Aunty as our protector...our warrior.
Rest in peace Big Aunty!
