Monica Luczon Ulangca's Obituary
Monica “Moning” Luczon Ulangca, age 93, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2020. She was born November 27, 1926 in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. She married her longtime love, Bibiano Ulangca in 1955 and had six children.
She was an admired primary school teacher before she immigrated to Hawaii in 1978 in hopes to give her family a better life. She held various jobs within healthcare before she opened her own independent care home in Hawaii. For more than 20 years she compassionately cared for people that were dealing with mental health challenges.
Monica was predeceased by her husband, Bibiano and son, Nestor. She will always be remembered as an amazing mother, mother-in-law, and loving mama.
Monica is survived by her 5 daughters and son-in laws: Violeta (Renie) Butay, Gloria (Orie) Butac, Maryann (Charito) Ruaburo, Nora (Dado) Gabuat and Imelda (William) Ulangca-Formoso; 8 grandchildren: Kristen-Carol, Jermel-Lynn, Tracey Ann, Yvette-Joy,Jordan Raymond, Marc Allen, Chad, William-Marc; and 1 great grand-daughter: Charlotte.
A memorial service will be held on Friday - November 13th, 6pm at St. Theresa Co-Cathedral - 712 N School St.
