Murlene Kawailani Wong's Obituary
Murlene Kawailani Wong, 77, of Waimanalo, Hawaii passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Ann Pearl Nursing and Rehab Centre. She was born on May 07, 1938 in Honolulu, Hawaii, she was the eldest of three children born to Charles K.A. Wong and Victory Pi‘ilani Marino. She was a stock clerk at the 7-11 Convenience Store in Kailua, she retired in 2006 after serving for 20 years.
Murlene attended Cathedral School and then went on to further her education at the Arc School. She lived in Waimanalo for all her life.
Important events in her life were working at 7-11, and participating in the Special Olympics where she was a Gold Medalist in Softball Throw. Her special friend was Clayton Cabral.
She was a woman who loved dancing hula, playing the ukulele, and whose favorite songs were Pearly Shells and Hanalei Moon. She was a loving, kind hearted, caring, funny, generous, and spunky woman who truly loved life and never let anything stand in her way.
She is survived by brother, Milton “Buddy” Wong; Nieces and Nephews and sister-in-law, Ileen Wong.
Visitation: 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary Chapel; Service to begin at 11:00 a.m.; burial to follow: 2:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery
