Naomi Leilani Lapinad's Obituary
Naomi Leilani Lapinad, 77, of Kaneohe, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away April 11, 2018. Born September 12, 1940 in Waihee, Oahu to parents Benjamin Hookano and Henrietta Watson Hookano, Naomi was a diligent, hardworking, talented woman who not only raised her family, but also had a working career that included many occupations. She was a cashier at Dote Market, a Customer Service Representative for Gold Bond, a novelty maker at Coco Joe's, shipping packer for Tropical Flowers, Hawaii, a nurse's aide at Kahana Ola at Pohai Nani, a caregiver, and a paramedical assistant at the Hawaii State Hospital. Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lapinad and son, Darren Lee Lapinad.
She is survived by loving children, Ryan Lapinad, Donna Lapinad, Lorena Paaga and Michelle Lapinad; hanai daughters, Karen Kahanu and Tanya Kobashigawa; sisters, Henrietta Choy Foo and Queenie Kobashigawa; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at St. John's by the Sea Episcopal Church (47-074 Lihikai Drive, Kaneohe, Hawaii). Visitation 10:00 a.m. with service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
