Nemesia Del Rosario Abanto's Obituary
Celebrating the life of Nemesia Del Rosario Abanto, born on February 17, 1918 in Brgy. 51-B, Nangalisan, Laoag City, Philippines; where she lived until she moved to Waiphau, Hawaii. Her parents were Antonio Del Rosario and Laureana Aguinaldo Del Resario. She was married Roman Abanto on February 1953 in Laoag City, Philippines. She was a member of Roman Catholic churches. Her most important events in her life were her immigration to Hawaii and raising her grandchildren.
She was a very generous, kind hearted, patient, loving, humorous and smart woman who enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking Filipino dishes, dancing and listening to Ilocano songs; her favorite songs were "Manang Biday" and "Dungdung Wen Kanto."
She is survived by son, Gil (Wilma) Abanto; daughter, Claudia (Crisanto) Cruz; five grandchildren, Christina, Cesar and Carlos Cruz, Lisa Marie and Glen Abanto.
Visitation to her funeral service will be from 8:30-9:45 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with family service to begin at 10:00 a.m. and Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial and additional services to be held at a later date in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
