Nnacy Kaupu's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Nancy Cecilia Kaupu (A Celebration of Faith, Love, and a Life Well Lived)
Nancy Cecilia Kaupu, age 92, peacefully entered her rest on Wednesday, April 29, at 10:12 a.m. at Kaiser Moanalua. Surrounded by the love of her family and the grace of her Savior, she completed her earthly journey and now sleeps in the blessed hope of Christ’s soon return.
Nancy was born in Kealia, Kona, to Charles and Mary Ha‘ae. From humble beginnings rooted in faith and family, she grew into a woman whose life radiated warmth, compassion, and unwavering devotion to God. She carried with her the values of her upbringing—kindness, humility, and service—and faithfully lived them out each day.
A dedicated Elementary School Teacher, Nancy devoted her life to shaping young minds and nurturing hearts. She believed teaching was not just a profession, but a calling. Through her patience, wisdom, and gentle encouragement, she touched countless lives. Her students and colleagues alike were blessed by her quiet strength and loving spirit, and many carry her influence with them to this day.
Above all, Nancy was a woman of deep Christian faith. She walked closely with the Lord and trusted in His promises, finding peace and purpose in His Word. Her life was a testimony to God’s love—expressed through her caring nature, her joyful spirit, and her willingness to serve others. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing her experienced that love firsthand.
Nancy is lovingly remembered by her son, Lloyd Michael Wong; her three grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, and David; and her five great-grandchildren, Malia, Maile, McKenna, Kainoa, and Kaleb. Her legacy lives on through them, carried forward in love, faith, and cherished memories.
A Celebration of Life will be held in June at the Central Seventh-day Adventist Church in Nu‘uanu, where family and friends will gather to honor her life and the hope she held so dearly. Following the service, her ashes will be lovingly spread at Kealia Beach by her ‘ohana, returning her to the place of her birth and the land she loved.
While we mourn her passing, we do not grieve without hope. Nancy now rests in the peace of the Lord, awaiting that glorious day when Jesus will return to awaken His faithful children. On that day, she will rise to spend eternity worshiping her Savior.
May we all be inspired by her life of faith to draw closer to God and make our own preparations for that blessed reunion. Let us live with the same hope she carried, so that we too may join her on that glorious day.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
