Noel Joselito Batara Racpan's Obituary
In Loving Memory of
Noel Joselito B. Racpan
May 14, 1965 - March 26, 2020
Noel was born on May 14, 1965 at Mary Chiles General Hospital in Manila, Philippines. He was the fifth of seven children born to Celestino Racpan Sr. and Virginia B. Racpan. When Noel was born his sisters started calling him “boy” because he was the only boy in the family. The nickname “Boy” stuck with him.
Noel grew up in a big family with humble beginnings in Sampaloc, Manila. His early childhood started at Dr. Alejandro Albert Elementary School. He was a quiet child growing up and grew to be a reserved person. While he joked around at times, he preferred to keep to himself. He went to high school at Far Eastern University just a few miles from their family house and continued his studies at the same university. He completed his courses at FEU and earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
In 1998, Noel immigrated to the United States and joined his family in Belle Harbor, New York. He took classes and received a certificate in Phlebotomy, but returned to his technology roots with a data entry job for Morgan Stanley.
Noel was incredibly caring and took care of his Mom until her final years. In 2015 he settled in Hawaii so he could still be close to her and visit her grave often. His co-workers at Ross remember his timid nature but knew that he also loved to joke around on certain days.
The many transitions throughout his life had been difficult, but he found solace in things that he loves to do. Noel developed an interest in photography early on. He loved taking pictures and videos of landscapes and interesting people, most especially his family. His love of photography, long walks, and music helped along the way. He was always the happiest when strolling the beach; one of his favorite places to visit. Noel was a dear son, brother, and uncle to many. Reserved with deep thoughts, often misunderstood but with a big, kind, and caring heart.
Noel is survived by his father, 3 elder sisters, 2 younger brothers and 3 nieces & 4 nephews.
"You left without warning. Gone so fast. Now all we have are memories of our past. However hard we may try; we can’t help but to cry. Taking sweet memories, it’s time to say goodbye.”
