Numeriano Tampon's Obituary
Numeriano Tangaro Tampon Sr., age 84, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, in Kahuku, Hawaiʻi.Born on July 5, 1941, in Cebu, Philippines, Numeriano later made Hawaiʻi his home. He was a proud graduate of Kahuku High School and honorably served in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he devoted many years to working in Hawaiʻi’s sugar industry, beginning at Kahuku Sugar Mill and later at Waialua Sugar Mill, where he advanced to the position of supervisor through his strong work ethic and leadership.
Known affectionately by his nicknames Numy, Papa, and G-Pop, Numeriano was a man of quiet strength, discipline, and deep love for his family. He had a lifelong connection to the ocean and found great joy in surfing and diving. He also took great pride in his yard work—wherever he lived, his yard was always beautifully maintained, a reflection of the care and dedication he brought to everything he did.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Priscilla.
Numeriano is survived by his daughters, Estrellita Torres (Reggie) and Regina Mae Kaupe (Peter); 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren, all of whom will forever cherish his guidance, wisdom, and love. He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a respected member of his community.
Services will be held on January 30, 2026, with viewing and service from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the inurnment at 1:45p.m.
Numeriano Tangaro Tampon Sr.’s legacy of service, perseverance, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
