Patrick Kahaumia Aki's Obituary
Mr. Patrick Kahaumia Aki, was born on February 20, 1924, in Waialua, Kauai and died August 7, 2022 in Mililani, Oahu.
He was a Nationally recognized Master Marksman and 15th Distinguished Pistol Recipient in the history of the United States Air Force. Captured and held as a Japanese POW at just 17 years old, he was the last remaining survivor of the “Alamo of the Pacific” Battle for Wake Island. Upon returning home from WWII, he enlisted in the USAF and spent an additional 22 years of service as a Marksman Instructor.
He was a devoted husband of 63 years to wife Yoko who preceded him to the afterlife.
He is survived by 4 children: Felicia K. Routon, Natalia P.R. Aki, Dominic K. Aki & Antony M. Aki.
8 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren & 4 Great, Great Grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Services to be held at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park on September 14, 2022.
