I submitted a post yesterday but did not see it, so I'll try again. I'm sorry
I was not able to attend the celebration of our friend's life.

Brother Paul, George Karonis, and I were partners from 1978-1981 as part of the new Division Unit (now State Narcotics/Narcotics Enforcement Division). In those days, pharmaceutical drugs were a rage in the nation, propagated by some rogue doctors and pharmacists.
Paul was an outstanding investigator, intuitive, firm, but mellow. His report writing was meticulous. I really enjoyed working with Paul and George (who were best of friends).

Paul gave me his beloved Ginger, a pure-bred lady boxer. My family enjoyed her for years, reminding me
of Paul.

I used to tease Paul that he reminded me of King Kamehameha I, but better looking!

Bother Paul, George Karonis, and I were partners for three years (1978-1981) with the new Diversion Unit (now State Narcotics/Narcotics Enforcement Division). We were tasked with enforcing the pharmaceutical laws. Many doctors and pharmacists were blatantly distributing dangerous drugs in Hawaii (and the nation). Paul was an outstanding investigator, so mellow but firm. His report writing was meticulous. I surely enjoyed my time with Paul and George (they were best of friends).

Around this time, Paul gave me his dog...beloved Ginger, a pure-bred lady boxer. My family enjoyed Ginger for years, always reminding me of Paul.

I would tease Paul that he reminded me of King Kamehameha I, only better looking!

I'm sorry I'm not able to attend Paul's celebration, but I pray for brother Paul and his family.
