Paul King's Obituary
Paul passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, Dec.24, 2018, at the age of 71. Paul was born to Helen and Eugene King of San Francisco, and was a proud alumnus of Archbishop Riordan High School and the University of San Francisco. Following his service in Vietnam, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a firefighter. There, he was known for his calm demeanor, jovial nature, and love of mint chip ice cream. He loved perhaps not all, but almost everyday of his 36+ years in the fire service.
Paul’s proudest achievement was being a devoted husband, father, and grandpa. He was an exceptional supporter of his kids, attending every soccer, baseball, football, and rugby game, and dance performance. He always put family first. He is survived by his wife of nearly 46 years, Kathy King: children Malia King (Lee Lakas) and Zachary King: granddaughters Olivia King and Charlie Lakas. He also leaves behind siblings Peter King, Janet Panacci (Frank), Gerald King, Joanne Nunan (Dennis), and many nieces and nephews. He was best friend to bulldog, Ramon, who also misses him dearly.
Paul was a ray of sunshine for all who knew him. His positivity, kind-heartedness, and loving spirit will be missed, but will serve as an inspiration each day.
Funeral services for Paul will be on Wednesday January 30, 2019 at St Ann Catholic Church. Visitation will be at 11 am with mass to begin at 12:30 pm. There will be a burial to follow at 2:00 pm at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
