Pedro Magaoay's Obituary
Pedro V. Magaoay, 88, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away peacefully in Waipahu to be with the Lord in Heaven on May 1, 2021. He was surrounded by his loving family. Pedro was born on October 23, 1932, in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. He emigrated to Hawaii in 1969. He is a retired housekeeper from the former Hawaiian Regent Hotel and Moana Surfrider where he worked over 23 years.
Pedro was very humble. He worked hard at 2 full-time jobs to provide a better life for his family. In his retirement years, he enjoyed gardening, watching boxing, traveling, and most especially creating memories with his grandchildren who he all loved and adored. He was a devout Christian who attended Full Gospel Temple in Kalihi.
Pedro is survived by his wife of 66 years, Leonarda “Maria” Magaoay, 4 children: Rizal (Shirley) Magaoay, Delia (Marlon) Esteves, Elizabeth (Richard) Chang and Sherry Fe (Bernardino Jr.) Yagin, 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
We deeply miss him. He will forever be in our hearts and his everlasting smile will be etched in our lives forever. Rest in Love Dad/Gramps…...until we meet again.
Memorial services to honor and celebrate Pedro’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Valley of the Temples Mortuary, main chapel. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, entry to the service is limited but will be live-streamed from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (online viewer login: webcast.funeralvue.com ID 54046). Public walk-thru visitation from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and burial to follow at 1:00 p.m. Attendees must adhere to maintaining social distancing and wearing a face mask.
