Petrona Magaoay Queja's Obituary
Petrona “Tona” Magaoay Queja, 88, of Pearl City, Hawaii, a retired presser with American Linen and also a homemaker, passed away in Pearl City, Hawaii. She was born in Naalehu, Kau, Hawaii where she lived until she was nine years old. Her parents were Emilio Magaoay and Dorotea Rumbaoa. She was the second oldest of 17 children. She attended Naalehu Elementary School. She retired in 1987, after serving for 16 years. She married Antero Acob Queja in Novemeber 1939. She is a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and belongs to the Bacarraneos of Hawaii. She is survived by husband, Antero Queja; sons, Amado (Juana) and Doming (Lucing) Queja; daughters, Demetria “Deme” “Siping” Ramiscal and Celia “Ismin” (Richard) Garcia; sister, Rita (Edwin) Manuel; brothers, Ricardo (Iniang), Juan (Binsiang), Miguel (Lita), Nario (Anita), Lamberto, and Sergio Magaoay; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Her visitation will be held 5:30-6:30pm., Friday, March 28, 2014; services will begin at 6:30pm at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; additional visitation will be held from 9-10am., Saturday, March 29, 2014; Mass will begin at 10:30am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church; with burial to follow 12:00pm. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
