Philomena Talon Racuya's Obituary
Philomena, 92, a retired credit clerk at City Mill, died unexpectedly at the Queen’s Hospital on March 19, 2018. In retirement, she lived a full, fun-filled and independent life as an active member, volunteer, and officer of the Pali Seniors and FACE Council, Ana Malia Young Lady’s Institute, and devoted parishioner of St. John Vianney Church choir, Young at Hearts Seniors club, and Sodality of our Blessed Lady. As the matriarch of the Racuya and Talon families, she lived life to the fullest and was an inspiration to her family and friends. She will be remembered as a fun loving, kind, and generous mother to James, Phyllis “Tina” (Noel Watson) and Kathleen (Michael Markrich), grandma to Mikayla and Max Markrich, sister to Cissy Van Kralingen, brothers, Prudencio and Bernardo Talon, aunty to numerous nieces and nephews, and caregiver to her daughter Patricia Rafkin, husband, Primo, and mother Juana Talon, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her sister, Juliana Thater, and brothers Miguel and Jose Talon. A celebration of her life will be held on May 10, 2018, St. John Vianney Church, 920 Keolu Drive, Kailua, visitation at 9:00 am to 10:30 am, followed by a eulogy and Mass at 11:00 am. Lei only, no flowers.
