Policarpo Azurin Empleo's Obituary
Policarpo Azurin Empleo, 80, of Waipahu, Hawaii passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Queen’s Medical Center – West. He was born to Victorina Ancheta (Azurin) and Felix Tamayo Empleo in Vigan Ilocos Sur, Philippines on January 26, 1936.
Policarpo received a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked and retired
as a civil engineer for the State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation, and Highways Division.
Policarpo is survived by his wife, Nena Divina Empleo; son, Nestor D. Empleo; daughters, Marybeth D. Empleo Gill and Claudette D. Empleo; brothers, Jose Empleo (from the Philippines), Felix Empleo, Jr. and Thomas Empleo; sisters, Loreto Bueno, Elena Tilan, Leticia Ragunjan and Maria Arreola; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Policarpo is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Victorina Empleo; two brothers, Ernesto Empleo and Alejandro Empleo.
Service for Policarpo will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church (located at 640 Puuhale Road Honolulu, Hawaii 96819); visitation from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., eulogy from 10:00 – 10:15 a.m., Mass to begin at 10:15 a.m., burial to follow 12:00 p.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
