Primo Soliven Ritumban's Obituary
Primo Soliven Ritumban, Sr, 88, of Ewa Beach, our beloved father, passed away peacefully in the presence of my loving family on April 14, 2018. Dad was born in San Vicente, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He married my Mom, the love of his life, whom he met in High School, on June 18, 1952. Dad was in the Philippine Constabulary for 27 years, and was on the first airborne battalion. Dad moved to Hawaii in 1979 to join the rest of the family who moved here earlier. Dad went back to worked as a “Wash-up” at Cannery Dole in Dillingham. Dad loved traveling back to the Philippines. It’s something he looked forward to every year. Dad also loved to garden. He definitely had a “green thumb”. He could cut a twig, plant it in an Ewa clay-like soil, and the plant would bloom. Dad is survived by Mom, Francisca (Francing); by my brothers Primo Jr, Edwin, Robin and Angel; by my sisters Catherine (Cathy), Frances Guerra, Mary Jane Ritumban-Fernando and me, Bernadette (Berna) Pescador; and by 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. We thank everyone who patiently and lovingly cared for my Dad. First visitation is on May 24, Thursday at 5:30 and mass at 6:30 at Hawaii Memorial Park. Second visitation is on May 25, Friday at 10:00 and mass at 11:00 at the Lady of the Mount in Kalihi Valley, followed by burial at 2:00 at the Valley of the Temple in Kaneohe.
