Rachel Kanoelani Davis McGuire's Obituary
Rachel Kanoelani Davis McGuire passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, Dec. 29. At age 91, she lived a full and vibrant life. She was born in Lahaina and raised on Molokai where she met and married Norman McGuire Sr., owner of the 5-2 ranch at Keawanui. After Norman’s death, Rachel moved with her family to Oahu where she was a food service worker and cook at Castle Medical Center. Rachel spent many years in volunteer service. After her retirement, she continued to volunteer at CMC for 25 years. She was also a docent at Iolani Palace and she was the resident kupuna at Ke Kula `o Samuel M. Kamakau.
She is survived by sons Norman B. (Bonnie) McGuire Jr. and Patrick (Mary Jane) McGuire and daughters Norma Roth and Ka`ohulani (Matthew) McGuire-Grollmus; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service at Waimanalo Seventh-day Adventist Church, Saturday, Jan. 16. Visitation at 3 pm, service at 3:30 pm. No flowers but leis welcomed. Aloha attire.
