Ramon David Miranda's Obituary
Ramon David Miranda passed away at age 71 on October 2, 2020, just two days shy of his 72nd birthday.
Born in Meriden, Connecticut, Ramon moved to Hawaii in 1981 even though he had never been to the Hawaiian Islands. He quickly learned how to surf, dance Hula and play Hawaiian music.
He soon started work as a Bio-medical engineer at Kaiser Permanente. 25 years later, he retired from Kaiser as their Facility Manager. Ramon did not stay retired; he was hired by Sodexo and worked at HMC West Hospital as their Director of Facilities for six years. In 2012, he took a new position at St. Francis Healthcare System Liliha as their Plant and Engineering Manager, where he retired in January 2017.
Ramon loved being around his grandkids, family and friends. He also loved football; he was on the all-star football team at Francis T. Maloney High School in Connecticut. He looked forward to his grandson’s practices and games every year and, enjoyed going to the UH games every season. Ramon’s other passion was going on bike rides with the Indian Motorcycle club. He will be forever missed by his family and friends. We are all so blessed to have had him in our lives; he was deeply loved and will forever remain in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Lee Miranda, Eric Fukui, Darin Shiu and Taylor Shiu; Grandchildren, Dreyden, Xavior, Eli and Noah; Fur buddy, Nalu; Sister, Anna Kaulig of Ohio.
A private celebration will be held at a later date.
