On June 3, our class were practicing a melody of songs and reminiscing of by-gone-days for alumni talent night. After practice, Jimmy Aarona announced that Ray was terminal and being sent home. Jimmy led us in prayer. My silent prayer included a request for a painless transition to God's open arms. While driving home that night, I tried to place the face to a name! Due to logistics, I had not seen Ray since 1965. I flipped through the '65 school annual to Ahana and flood of memories surfaced. As with Fred Woo, the memories centered around that "smile" and the disposition that accompanied it. This was a gift from God to the world, and delivered by Raymond Makana Ahana.
