Reginald "Friday" Nainoa Fellezs Jr's Obituary
Reginald “Friday” Nainoa Fellezs Jr., 78, of Kaneohe, Oahu, was born on October 1, 1947. On April 29, 2026, he peacefully entered the Heavenly realm, surrounded by the deep love of his Earthly Ohana. As he transitioned into eternal life, he was welcomed by Jesus Christ, Father God Almighty, his Guardian Angels, and the beloved family and friends who preceded him.
Friday was a gentle soul who greeted every person he met with warmth and true Aloha, a reflection of the sacred values and traditions instilled in him by his kupuna. Deeply loved by all who knew him, he will be forever remembered for his kind heart, quiet spirit, humor, creativity, and a lifelong passion for music that began in his childhood home.
A proud 1965 graduate of Kamehameha Schools, Friday flourished as a musician, playing the French Horn under the direction of Robert Fleming. Over the decades, his respect for music spanned many genres, earning him a place of honor and admiration among local musicians. Like many local boys raised in the islands, Friday found his soul in the ocean. Guided by his father’s teachings and an adventurous spirit, he became an experienced Waterman, bravely surfing waves few others would dare on his cherished surfboard, "The Table". He was also a gifted artist whose talent once led him to study architecture in Ogden, Utah, where he continued to nurture his artistic and musical gifts.
Friday’s legacy of love continues through his wife of 40 years, Michelle “Kelly” Hanakaulani Fellezs; his daughters, Starnani Nainoa Simanu (William) and Kari Layton; his seventeen grandchildren; and his five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Regilene “Sweetie” Kuuipo McFaul and Regina "Kanani" Kauanani Okayama (Milton). He has now been reunited with his parents, the late Reginald "Sharky" Nainoa Fellezs Sr. and Gladiola Kahuanani Fellezs, and his brother, Gilman Paul “Butch” Keolani Fellezs.
We invite you to honor Friday’s beautiful life on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Kaneohe Congregational Church. A private ceremony for the scattering of his ashes will be held at a later time.
May the Lord watch between me and thee, while we are absent one from another.(quote : author unknown)
