Reynolds Kenji Higa's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Reynold Kenji Higa
September 13th, 1940 – April 5th, 2026
We celebrate the beautiful life of Reynold Kenji Higa, who was born and later passed in Honolulu, blessing this world for 85 vibrant years. His days were filled with energy, curiosity, and the steady joy of doing what he loved.
Classic cars always caught Reynold’s eye, and he spent countless happy hours caring for and admiring his beloved vehicles. When the garage doors opened, friends and family knew they would hear stories of chrome, engines, and the thrill of the open road. His enthusiasm made every ride feel like a shared adventure.
Reynold also found calm in his yard, carefully picking puakenikeni blossoms to string into fragrant lei. The soft scent of those flowers became a cheerful sign of his care and creativity.
Time with people mattered most to him, and visiting with friends and family brought him daily happiness. He greeted every gathering with warmth that made each person feel appreciated.
Reynold’s legacy continues through his children: daughter Reynette Piilani Higa, son Reynolds Kaui Higa with wife Margaret, and son Albert Kalei Higa with wife Lourdes. Loved by his four grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Their stories, laughter, and memories carry his spirit forward.
While we will miss him, we lift our hearts in gratitude for the rides taken, the conversations shared, and the sweet scent of puakenikeni that will always remind us of Reynold’s bright and generous life.
