Ricardo "Ricky" "Rick" "Richard" "Cardo" Ramos Acierto's Obituary
Ricardo “Ricky” “Rick” “Cardo” Richard Ramos Acierto, 91, of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away on January 31, 2017. Ricardo was the youngest of all siblings born to Enocensia (Ramos) and Canuto Acierto.
Ricardo was a United States Army Veteran, who served from 1945 – 1948 during WWII. He was assigned to G.M. AGES in the Infantry division as a PFC. After serving three years he returned back home.
After returning from the war, Ricardo attended the Pearl Harbor Public Work Center’s Apprenticeship program where he graduated and began his lifelong career as a Marine Machinist in Shop 38.
Ricardo was married to Diana Acob.
Ricardo’s close friend and co-worker was Hideo Yamamoto who always helped him with their daily bible devotion at Pearl Harbor.
Ricardo enjoyed spending time with his family and friends to celebrate all occasions and celebrating his wedding anniversaries.
Ricardo will be remembered for being a caring, loving and kind man. He always made sure that things were doing well with our families. Ricardo enjoyed boxing, cooking, fixing cars, playing the Saxophone and he also enjoyed listening to the “Oldies but Goodies” music from the 1940’s to the late 1950’s.
Ricardo is survived by daughter, Melanie Acierto; sons, Erwin Acierto, Leo Acierto and Elvin Acierto; six grandchildren, Shanda Acierto, Amberlynn Acierto, Leon Acierto, Tajia Acierto (Keanui) CarMack, Ciara Acierto and Dorian Acierto; seven great-grandchildren, Brayden Acierto, Tierre Valdez, Deyla Valdez, Chanson Torres, Kayzden CarMack, Kaylie CarMack, Ryzon Acierto.
Service for Ricardo will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; visitation from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m., service to begin at 9:30 a.m., burial to follow 11:00 a.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery Committal Shelter.
