Richard M. Wanda's Obituary
On June 19, Richard M. Wanda passed away in Honolulu, Hawaii at the age of 55.
Richard was born on May 7, 1961 and struggled through the Cultural Revolution in China, unable to attend elementary school and junior high. However, he was a very gifted child and he self-studied and was able to pass the entrance exam for Shanghai Red Star High School.
In 1980, he moved to the U.S. He went to school during the day and at night, he would work late hours repairing jewelry, leaving no time to do his homework. Despite this, he became fluent in English within less than two years. Though he had hard times in his life, he was able to earn a college degree and devote himself to his political career. He ran for office twice in Alaska.
His parents, siblings and cousins are mourning his early passing and will miss him dearly. May he rise up to the heavens and be with the Lord, watching and protecting those who are dear to him.
