Richard Y.C. Zane's Obituary
Richard Y.C. Zane fondly known as “Beloy/Pops” 92 of Kaneohe, Hawaii passed away peacefully at his home on February 23, 2024. He was born on November 30, 1931, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Beloy was raised in Damon Tract which is now called Keehi Lagoon and graduated from Farrington High School. As a child, Beloy had a passion for raising chickens and fishing. In 1951, at the age of 20, he was drafted in the United States Army to serve in the Korean War. He served our county and returned home in 1953. He went on to work for the City and County of Honolulu and retired as an automotive supervisor in 1986.
After his retirement, Beloy continued his passion of traveling, raising chickens, fishing, baby sitting and supporting his grandchildren in their sports. Pops was a true legend. His wisdom, knowledge and storytelling will live on forever. Those who were lucky enough to learn from him will carry on his legacy. He was also a great mentor to many who have come to him for guidance. He will be greatly missed.
He now joins his parents Philip K.S. and Mary C. Zane, his siblings Theresa Navarre and Leonard Zane. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Patricia D. Zane and his loving two daughters: Marie R. Lopez (Joey Sr.) of Guam Marlene H.K. Cipriano (Rique) of Kaneohe Grandsons: Joey Jr. Lopez (Shayna Jo) of Guam Marcus Lopez (Eme Dianne) of Guam Micah Lopez (Rachelle) of Guam Dominic Lopez (Shalea) of Kauai Granddaughters: Alyssa Cipriano-Malina (Rianne) of California Alexis Cipriano (Xavier) of Kaneohe Great Grandchildren: Kalena, Aiden, Jasmine, Joseph Zane and Ezekiel Richard.
Last Respects on Friday, April 12, 2024, at St. Ann’s Church Kaneohe, Hawaii from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Mass at 11:00 am and Burial to follow at 1:00 pm at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery St. Anns Church 46-129 Haiku Road, Kaneohe, Hawaii 96744 Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery (Hawaiian Memorial Park) 45-349 Kamehameha Highway Kaneohe, Hawaii 96744.
