Robert Anthony Brewer's Obituary
Robert (Bob) Anthony Brewer was born on June 12, 1940. He passed away at 12:51pm on July 16, 2023 in Honolulu, Hawaii with his love of life, Dongping (Minnie), by his side and his children there in spirit and on the phone due to the distance. Bob was cremated, and his ashes were lovingly wrapped in a traditional Hawaiian style with sacred Ti leaves and flowers which were then gently lowered into the Pacific Ocean at N 21°17.115', W 157°51.991', depth 9.2 feet bearing 080°M off Waikiki Beach – Kewalo Basin Harbor, during his celebration of life at sunset on August 6, 2023.
Bob was a brilliant man who led an amazing life on his terms. He loved Hawaii and he and Dongping made it their home. He had a lifelong career as a teacher/educator in the States and internationally. The most fulfilling was his work in China. He was an accomplished photographer.
Bob was preceded in death by his brother Jack Brewer, his father John M. Brewer, his mother Mildred (Grennan) Brewer and his former wife Miriam (Wilson) Brewer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years Dongping, his children Robert M. Brewer, John D. Brewer (Lisa) and Jill A. Abarca. His grandchildren Raul G. Abarca, Jessica C. Abarca, Cesar A. Abarca (Margaret) and Ryann G. Laine (Ashley Abarca). He is also survived by his six great-grandchildren, Daniel Rivera, Elaina Baez, Jorge Baez, Chloe Abarca, Zoey Abarca and Alexander Abarca.
