Robert Harvey Mckay Jr. (Bob), 95, passed away Oct 17, 2022, in the loving arms of his family. He was born in the US Territory of Alaska, in Cordova on June 12, 1927. He is preceded in death by his parents Orpha Vivian Ellis and Read Obituary
Dr McKay was my boss when I was a student at UH in the 80's. He was a kind and patient man. I'm grateful to have had such a wonderful mentor early on in my studies. Bobby was a pal since the early1980s when he joined our poker team made up of University of Hawaii professors and staff. We played once a month from 6pm until whenever. Early on, when we were younger, we might play all night, but as we grew older we quit earlier and earlier until midnight became the quitting time. About once a year we would fly to another island for a long weekend of poker and some hiking, fishing, tennis or napping. See some of the pictures from our Molokai, Lanai, and Maui trips.
