Chuck Laiti
I served under "Sgt K", as we referred to him, at Camp Red Cloud Korea 1973-74. He was simply the best Sergeant you could hope for. He was firm but good humored and kind. He could be unorthodox at times, which, as a draftee, I appreciated. A lot of us rode bicycles around the base. Sgt K got a Korean bike, one of these industrial looking rides. He would ride that thing to the comm center we worked in. Eventually brass decided that sergeants riding bicycles was "unbecoming a non-commissioned officer". Sgt K and at least one other Sgt I knew of had to stop riding. As with everything else he adjusted with grace... - Chuck Laiti - Former 51st signal Bn A Co. Comm Center Platoon Sp4.
