Robert Matsuichi Takai's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Mr. Robert Matsuichi Takai, who passed away in Waianae on January 24, 2014. He was born on December 21, 1940 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Henry Haruichi Takai and Hiroko Fujioka; Robert was the oldest of six children. He attended Farrington High School. Upon graduation he began his career as an Electronic Mechanic. Robert retired in 2003 after serving 41 years for the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and he was a United States Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam War. After retirement he was involved in horse breeding. He married Kay V. Aiello they lived together in Waianae.
Robert was a member of the AQHA and APHA. His most important events in his life were the birth of his three children and the birth of his grandson, Tatum K. Takai-Cox. He enjoyed listening to Country Music.
He is survived by daughter, Faye M. Takai-Cox (Jeffrey); sons, Sean K. Takai and Scott K. Takai; grandson, Tatum K. Takai-Cox; mother, Hiroko Takai; sisters, Amy Lee and Thelma (Ronnie) Suzuki; brothers, Calvin (Lynn) Takai, Lawrence Takai and Mitchell (Mavis) Takai.
His internment will be held11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery.
